Alex Burnett studied biology at the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, graduating with a bachelor of science. He continued his education in the university’s medical college by enrolling in a MD program in 2020. From 2017 to 2020 Alex Burnett worked as a medical scribe with ScribeAmerica, part of the UF Health system. His activities as a medical scribe ranged from making detailed records of all patient encounters to facilitating communications between different medical professionals. He was eventually promoted to the role of scribe trainer, which involved mentoring and coaching all incoming scribes.

Alex Burnett gained customer relations experience during his time as a shift manager at Buffalo Wild Wings in St. Augustine, Florida. He has also worked as a masonry apprentice in Orange City. His achievements at the UF College of Medicine in Gainesville include a Charlotte Liberty Medical Scholarship and a Medical Student Research Project stipend. He was a Dean’s List student as an undergrad and has been named to the president’s honor roll.
